Saw 3

For some reason I waited forever to get into the Saw movies (Saw-ga?). I had given up on the "horror/thriller" genre altogether, choosing instead to watch classics for my scare fix. Everywhere I went friends and family insisted that Saw was right up my alley. I was convinced that these new movies everyone was talking about belonged somewhere in the cinema cesspool consisting of bad horror remakes (American and Asian alike), even worse sequels, and (God help us) prequels so audiences can "see where it all began." Needless to say I caught up with the masses and watched the first two Saw films in the few weeks before Halloween. I LOVED THEM. Saw 3 picks up directly where 2 left off, and fills in some of the blanks from the first 2 installments. I won't say it's better or worse; rather, I feel the Saw films are designed to be viewed back-to-back. It's really just one big movie, Lord of the Rings-style. If you liked the first two, by all means check out part 3 -- BGM

South Park

The new season of South Park is ruling. "The Mystery of the Urinal Deuce" was an excellent follow-up to "World of Warcraft." I'm so glad I have cable again. Only Matt Stone and Trey Parker can combine plots consisting of the truth behind 9/11 and a "Hardly" Boys mystery involving misplaced chocolate monkeys. I posted a blog about the movie Equilibrium on myspace, for those that give a damn. In the meantime, I gotta go. I'm getting a raging clue right now -- BGM

On a different note, I just heard a new song by U2 and Green Day. Something about saints...can't remember the title. It's unavailable on cd as far as I know. Anyone heard it? -- BGM

my 2nd blog ever!

Anyone out there have comments on the new Alice in Chains music? I haven't heard any of it and was kind of wary at first of the new vocalist. I dug the stuff Jerry Cantrell did on his own, so I'm sure I'll like it, even in Layne's absence, rest his soul. Is this how this blog thing works? -- BGM
